CHF vs EUR ETF Investing on SIX Exchange

Hello.

I noticed that there is this particular UBS MSCI Europe ETF:

I noticed that on SIX Exchange you can buy it either in CHF or EUR.

Fund currency is EUR but I don’t think the swiss version is hedged to CHF.

Is there any difference between investing in EUR and CHF versions?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

Hi

Indeed, the CHF version will not be hedged. This is the exact same fund, traded in two different currencies.

It does not matter much. In one case, you do the currency conversion yourself (with your broker) and buy the fund in EUR. In the other case, you let the exchange do the currency conversion and buy the fund in EUR. If you want to keep EUR, then the EUR is better. But if you are going to convert anyway later to CHF, the difference is not that significant in the long-term. I usually prefer to trade ETFs in their fund currencies.
