Dear valued POORSWISS community

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Tom.

I recently moved from Austria to Switzerland.

Big thank you to the Swiss for the friendly welcome.

I am happy to found the website / forum, because there are differences between Switzerland vs. Austria (EU).

I would very appreciate, if a member could me help with the following “issue”. I spent several hours, however without success. I am not sure, if I found the “right ETF”.

I am looking for the corresponding US ETF from European (UCITS) ETFs.

Hi Tom

Depending on what you are searching, there are two ways to achieve your goal.

1) If you already know the index you want (S&P500 for instance or Russell 2000), you can use the screener from ETF Central. Searching by index name and then refining results, you see the most interesting ETFs like VOO, IVV and SPY.

2) If you only know the asset class, you can either use the screener mentioned before or the screener from ETFDB. For instance, if you search for short-term treasury bonds, you will find SHY and VGSH which are a good replacement for the Treasury Bond 1-3 years ETF.

Now, have you really thought about your portfolio? It seems very complicated and not well suited to a Swiss investor.
