Hi,

I have been thinking recently about alternative investments and was wondering what people were holding in the community.

On our side, we have (very) little physical gold and since very recently some cryptocurrencies. But even together these two make 1.5% of our entire net worth, so it is more testing them than investing in them.

What about you?

Interesting. I don't have such investments and don't plan for them in the near future. Do you also want to capture people like me with the survey? In that case you'd need an additional answer like 'I am not investing in alternative investment.'.

Fair, I added a `None` option :)

Round 6% in alternative asset (mainly precious metals and a bit wine, watch and art) as a hedge against inflation. The idea is that the quantity of money printed by the central bank will carry on expanding the money supply. Whereas it's harder to expend the supply of alternatives asset (especially precious metals) in the same proportion. I started to invest in precious metal after having read Marc Faber. He sees US stock rather overvalued and precious metal cheaper (summarized in a nutshell) . It is an interesting discussion topic 😉

With Splint invest. There are fees (ie 1.7% per year for physical gold hold in a bank in Bern, round 3% yearly fee for art or Louis Vuitton shoes, 2.5% whiskey). +2% selling fees. I try to invest during special offer to compensate. It happen one or twice per year 50.- CHF is offered when 200.- is invested. Three reasons to invest :

- 1 protection against inflation
- 2 owing a tiny little part auf my networth in physical asset (if financial pearl harbor happen)
- 3 the team is reachable, I met Aurelio twice

+ A little bit with revolute (legacy from before, I don't Invest anymore fees are to high)
