ETF restriction and portfolio tips

Hello everyone,

I'm writing this message today to ask you a few questions. My primary objective was to invest long-term in ETFs such as the S&P 500 and NASDAQ, but I recently found out from my broker (IB) that I couldn't buy shares in these different ETFs, whereas I had no problem buying VT for example. Would you know the reason for this?

I'd also be curious to know the composition of your various portfolios (if this information is exchanged, of course) and if you have any tips on some of them that are really worth a look!

Thank you in advance for your feedback!
Have a nice day!

Hi @AntoineDeA and welcome to the forum!

Could you please share, which ticker did you try to buy? I can buy VOO (Vanguard S&P 500) without issues. Maybe you tried to buy a fund and not an ETF.

My portfolio is extremely simple: 85% VT / 15% CHSPI
