Thats they way I filed the DA-1 form for my tax declaration 2023. As I didn’t have more than CHF 100 foreign withholding, I didn’t really paid attention when I did the declaration. This year I will qualify, so I just wanted to know if the tax declaration is filled out correctly in order to be reimbursed for 2024.
Broker: IBKR
ETF: VT
Domicile: Canton Fribourg

Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks for the example. I will have to do this first time in 2025, and I hope this will not get overwehlming ...
So far I have read the "Wegleitung" to the tax declaration. Do I get this right:

- All US-domiciled ETFs qualify for the DA-1 form, regardless of the shares they contain (i.e. also "xUS"-ETFs)?
- What about shares from third countries, for example Taiwan or whatever?
- Stupid questions: What do I do in case there are not enough lines in the DA-1 form? Just fill a second one?

Thanks :-)

Correct.

I don't know. Each country will have different rules and I have not researched them all.

In the software, you should be able to generate any number of lines. In paper format, I guess you would need a second form indeed. But I have never filled a DA-1 in paper.

Yes, this is a common issue: the electronic DA-1 form in Zurich has a limited number of rows for securities transactions by default. But there are a few solutions:
Solution 1: Attach additional sheets

If you have too many transactions, you can upload or print the securities statement from your IBKR account (e.g., annual tax report or dividend report) as a separate file. You can indicate in the form that the detailed list is attached separately.
Solution 2: Use an Excel template from the tax authority

Some cantons provide an official Excel template where you can enter all transactions and submit it as an attachment. Check if Zurich offers such a template. If not, you can create your own Excel list.
Solution 3: Manually expand the DA-1 form

If you want to edit the form directly, you can try opening the PDF version with Adobe Acrobat or a PDF editor and adding more rows. However, in some cases, this might cause issues when submitting it digitally.
