I'm new to Interactive Brokers and a bit confused with its UI (I use the standard web interace as well as the Android app). Some questions I have:
- On the web interface, on the main page, there's some account info to the left. Right below the total portfolio value, there's a number (negative or positive). What does this number mean exactly? Is it the returns of the last 24 hours?
- To the right, on the Dashboard section, there's 2 tabs to pick: Value and Performance. My value number is green, and the value of my portfolio does appear to be a bit higher than when I bought the current stocks, but under "Performance" it's red and showing around -0.5%. The timeline is set to "All" in both tabs. Where is this discrepancy coming from?
- If I'm in the Value tab of the Dashboard, I basically see my portfolio value 3 times, and every time, it's a slightly different amount. I see it in the left menu next to "Account", and I see it twice right on top within the Value tab of the Dashboard section. In each of these places, the value slightly differs - why?
- Coming from Truewealth, I kind of miss seeing an easy to understand overview of how well my portfolio is doing and has been doing over, say, the last month, the last week, the last X days. I also miss seeing bars that differentiate between me adding money to the portfolio, and the portfolio stocks going up / down. Is there any way to make it easier to read / understand?
