Invest money from company ?

Hello guys,

I have been a freelancer for years and decided at some point to create an llc company. After Covid, I started working as an employee and let my company dormant. I still have around 100kCHF in it that I don't know what to do with. I can either:

- Take it as a dividend, pay taxes and then invest it
- Invest it from the company but I will pay taxes on capital gains

Or just let it there as a safety account and invest only what I have in my personnal account.

I just wounder if anyone has been in a similar situation and what did you do ?

Thanks,

Hi chat

I would say it depends on how much withdrawal taxes you are going to pay if you take the money out as dividends. And it also likely depends on whether you think you may do some further business with the company.

For me, if this company stays there for a long time, it's better to invest it. Exactly whether it's better to take it as dividends or pay taxes now or pay taxes on capital gains is difficult to say. I personally opted out for the second option, but I am not entirely sure it's always best.
