Neon introducing new charges and plans

Just had an email announcing this today.
Are there any competitors that aren't doing this or will they all be going down the same road?

I shop a lot in France so this will cost 40-50chf a year, ok not a fortune and still better than mainstream banks but certainly no longer free.

Well Neon may have lost their « best bank in Switzerland » title: https://www.neon-free.ch/en/blog/about-neon/discover-our-new-neon-plans/

The free Neon account will now have a 0.35% fee on foreign payments (in addition to the Mastercard markup which is around 0.40%) and withdrawals will now cost 2CHF!

To get the benefits we have now, one needs to choose one of their new paying plans: Plus - Global or Metal (+Green).

Looks like Radicant has officially become the BEST bank in Switzerland with interbank foreign transaction (absolute 0% markup), free withdrawals (12 per year), their own Twint and a virtual card for extra online security.

Yes, the new plans have been announced today. I officially can't update my articles yet, but there seems that several alternatives will now be cheaper (Radicant, WIR Bank Top and Alpian come to mind).

I am probably not going to change my main account but may get a new card for foreign payments now since I use that everywhere (or simply pay the 2 CHF per month).

The lack of free withdrawals is also something I will miss since Neon is my main account and we still need some cash from time to time.

I officially can't update my articles yet
Is there a reason for that?

Just got the email with the announcement; I thought this bit was funny.
I wonder if they're carefully listening to the community at the moment, because from what I've seen online, this announcement hasn't been a huge success^^

Influencer embargo :) Which is relatively funny since many of my readers are already using neon and have the information.

I am not sure anything will change on the 13th, this will simply be the full public launch after the internal transfer.

Usually, when a service introduces new fees, the news does not have huge success ^^

Radicant is not a swiss bank as far as I know...

ok but the Bon A Savoir magazine of April says :
Revolut is represented in Switzerland by Postfinance and this is NOT watched by FINMA...

With the new Revolut Swiss IBAN, I might reopen a Revolut account to use it while traveling.

Maybe it's time to write a comparison/article on the best bank for traveling?
Good idea indeed. I am waiting for my account to be converted, but it does not seem to come. I have not even received a mail about it.
