Patreon?

Hi Baptiste, I was wondering why you had not yet set up a Patreon.
Is this because you were waiting for the LLC to be set up first? It will most probably not make you rich, but might sponsor a dinner out with Mrs Poor Swiss once a month

Hi

I hate Patreon because you can only do recurring subscriptions. I would rather not enforce another subscription on my readers. I hate that the whole world is turning to subscription.

If readers want to support me, they can buy my book or buy me a coffee through the links on the about page. I only set this up because multiple readers actually requested it But the blog is doing well, so there is no need for readers to give me further money.

Ah, OK. I like Patreon because there is no long-term commitment, I can support someone while I think they produce something useful, and can afford to do it. I'll check out the links

It's true that Patreon is good for many things, but I don't want to hide some content for Patreon-only and I don't want to make people pay a subscription if I offer them no added value.

But maybe I am too harsh on the idea
