Last week the Financial Times reported that Revolut has been hacked. The hack was quite unusual. The hackers obtained the files by compromising an Italian government email system, which they used to pose as law enforcement and demand information on specific Revolut client accounts over several months. According to NZZ, most the data is from French and Swiss customers of Revolut, targeted mostly at cryptocurrency holdings.
The hackers published their ransom demand on their own website, making the hack unusually public. From my understanding, this happened after Revolut did not reply to the hacker's requests.
According to the Guardian, Revolut stated that customer funds are not at risk.
