Transfer of IBKR account from a non-European account to a Swiss account

Hi everyone,

My IBKR account is currently with their Hong Kong entity and I need to move it to Switzerland. I've read everything I could online, but if anyone has done something similar and has any advice to share it would be great!

Hi Eleni

I have heard from multiple of my readers doing such transfers (although not from these exact entiies).
There is no way to do it yourself. You need to open a support ticket on the web interface to start the process.

Keep in mind that there is no Swiss entity. We use the UK entity here.
 
oh! Thank you for your response Baptiste. I read that it should be relatively easy by opening a new account with the UK entity and then transferring my Hong Kong account to that one. Good to know that it might be more complicated thank you.
 
You can also transfer your assets from one to the other yourself indeed. But this might me non-trivial if you have many assets.
