US ETFs - USD?

Hi all, for those in CH who have invested in US based ETFs like Vanguard Total World, did you purchase on the NYSE in USD? I have bought a small amount like this and wonder if it was the right thing to do due to the currency fluctuation.

Yes, it's the right thing to do if you want to buy US ETFs.

Long story: If you are worried about currency fluctuations, you will have to use other tools to alleviate the risk (at a cost).

do you know if forex rate at IB is free from extra charges, except the 2 USD fee? like a % on forex rate

Yes, they do not add an extra spread on top of the fee.
