Life insurance with Zurich and 200 CHF Migros gift card

Hi all,

In 2025, my partner and I decided to take out life insurance. We chose Zurich because it is a well-known insurance company.

We each paid approximately CHF 100 for the policy. A couple of weeks later, we each received a CHF 200 Migros gift card. The operation resulted in a CHF 200 benefit.

I wanted to ask whether this is a common practice and whether there is a way to "replicate" this operation when renewing our policy with Zurich or taking out insurance with another company.

Thank you in advance.

You're right, Zurich mentions the gift card on their website.
In my experience, this is a rare practice of insurance companies. I'm more used to banks offering such welcome gifts. I wouldn't expect this to be a common practice which is widely replicable. Also, don't count on another gift for the renewal of your policy.

Interesting, I had never heard of that before.

I would be surprised if this were replicable, but this is interesting nonetheless.

Is that a pure-risk life insurance or a life insurance 3a?
