Hey everyone!
As a fellow fan of optimizing fixed costs, I wanted to share a project I recently built that might save some of you a few hundred bucks on rent:

If you’re renting in Switzerland, you probably know that your rent is linked to the Swiss mortgage reference interest rate (hypothekarischer Referenzzinssatz). The Federal Office for Housing updates this rate 4 times a year. When the rate drops, tenants are legally entitled to ask for a rent reduction—but unless you actively track it, landlords rarely pass on the savings automatically.

It’s completely free to use. I’d love for you to check it out, give it a try, and let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions!
Cheers

- Subscribe to free email alerts: Get notified as soon as the reference rate changes (and whether your specific baseline means potential savings for you).
- Generate a rent reduction letter: Input a few details about your current lease, and the tool builds a ready-to-send letter for your landlord.
